Archer nodded his head, thinking as his friend finished telling their story. He had just returned from a place in the mountains were there was ice over the rivers and snow on the ground. While the small valley high in the mountains was quite a distance away from town, Archer wanted to give his newer and younger tokotas a chance to learn how to ice fish before the winter rolled around and it was a bit more dangerous. Archer thanked his friend and continued on his way, quickly heading for home so he could get his group of toktoas together and pick up a few of his friend’s tokotas for the journey.

Archer stretched, rolling out of bed as the sunlight shone into his face. He yawned widely, scratching at his back and wiping the sleep from his eyes as he shambled over to his dresser, pulling out a clean set of clothes and shrugging them on. He moved into the kitchen and tossed some leftovers from dinner onto the stove, heating them up as he moved around the cabin, tidying up a little bit while he waited for the meat to heat up. Archer hummed a tune as he grabbed a broom and swept the house, brushing the sweepings out the front door before returning to the kitchen to find his meat all warmed up and ready. Archer yawned and stretched, hands hitting the flimsy material of his tent. Momentarily confused, his eyes blinked open and he looked around, trying to find out where he was camping before the memories of his adventure rushed over him. He was camping out with a bunch of other tokota handlers and their tokotas on the Tartok mountains, which seemed to have a large population of wild dire tokotas. At least, it had seemed to when he first arrived, but now, they were thinning out as well as the campers. The days were growing shorter, and the nights colder, especially when the sun was staying behind the far mountains for so long. At these altitudes
After this quick and quite lucky take down of this seemingly young moose, the other tokotas, Sky, Akeri, Harlequin, and Kanel, who hadn’t gotten to any actual hunting yet, grew quite restless, sensing other prey near. Diego wanted to use this opportunity to really engage in a run hunt for once. For that, they would have to approach the trees slowly, making sure not to disturb the herd to the center of the valley. Using the mounted tokotas, meaningly him on Sky and Archer on Akeri to get the herd up and running, the three loose tokotas would be able to quickly select and bring down a weaker individual with ease. Like how wolves did it.

Dire Days Task 1 Bonus-Mountain Lion
Archer set out of camp at a brisk pace on Kanel’s back, riding the sleepy curly down a slight incline. He had just gotten into camp the other day and was eager to head out and explore the area. Archer had gotten up early as usual, but was pleasantly surprised to find that there were a few other handlers who also rose that early in the morning. After a cup of coffee, he had set out on Kanel’s back. A few different people had recommended one of the mountain ridges to travel along for a nice scenic hike, so he guided Kanel in that direction. The morning was chilly, and air chilled from the glacial valley swept past him and up the gen
